Pitt Street Bridge Makeover

Starting last week on January 13th, Pitt Street Bridge will be closed until early May 2025 (or whenever the project is completed)

The formal project name is The Pitt Street Bridge Micromobility Project and its purpose is to “improve safety through the clear delineation between motorized and non-motorized uses along Pitt Street from Schweers Lane to the Pitt Street Bridge Park entrance.”

The many parts of the project include:

  • New Kayak Launch Area

  • New ADA Parking

  • New Sidewalks

  • Improved Parking

  • Golf Cart Parking

  • New Pedestrian Lighting

  • Enhanced Cul-De-Sac

The project is also focusing on Environmental Sustainability and the long-term resilience of the area through indigenous plant landscaping and shoring up the back slopes of the roadways.

The total cost of the project is budgeted at $913,016.

I’m ready for warmer weather after this week!

Our every 8-year snow storm is behind us and boy am I glad. That was a doozy of a week. Kids were out of school almost all week. Roads covered in ice. Bridges closed down. It looked pretty though. Our 4 day winter is behind us and I’m ready for spring weather. Even though in the middle of August when it’s 100º and humid outside we’ll be wishing for cooler weather. The endless cycle.
