Over the past few weeks, we have seen unimaginable devastation in Asheville, NC and the surrounding areas. The amount of support from across the Southeast and beyond has been incredible, but they still need so much more. There are so many drop-off locations, below you’ll see a small list of places around the area and what they are currently seeking for relief efforts.
Hurricane Helene Relief Drop off locations
Since the devastation of Helene, many have asked me and others where they can donate and what is needed. There are countless places to donate around the Lowcountry that are making trips with supplies to the affected areas. Here is a list of a select few around the area (via ABC News 4)
Charleston, North Charleston, and Summerville Atlantic Coast Electric Supply Locations
Atlantic Coast Electric Supply is teaming with Operation Airdrop to gather supplies to deliver to those in need in North Carolina. All donations accepted will be transported to the electric company's Concord, N.C. branch, where supplies will be further transported and distributed to those in need. Priority Donation List:
Pre-mixed baby formula, chewable Benadryl, more foods like nut mixes, beef jerky, granola bars (think hiking foods!), baby food, towels (new), diapers, socks (new)

Charleston (West Ashley) - American Legion Post 179
American Legion Post 179 is collecting supplies for those suffering in Western North Carolina. They are located at 1748 Ashley Hall Road in West Ashley.

Charleston (West Ashley) - Citadel Mall
West Ashley Connects is filling a 15' truck Saturday, Oct. 5 to deliver supplies to Swannanoa and Asheville. The truck will be located at Citadel Mall in front of the MUSC clinic location. Supplies will be donated to Hearts with Hands, a FEMA-certified nonprofit. See the full list of items being accepted here below:

Any Charleston Fire Department Station (Charleston, West Ashley, James Island, Johns Island, Daniel Island/Cainhoy)
The Charleston Firefighters Local 61 and the Charleston Fire Department are accepting donations at any Charleston Fire Department Station.

James Island Town Hall
The town of James Island and Pet helpers have partnered to help get supplies to areas devastated by Hurricane Helene. The first truckload of supplies is heading to Aiken, S.C. with more leaving on a weekly basis. A list of items needed is below:

Nexton - Codfather
The Codfather at Nexton is accepting supplies at their restaurant at 508 Nexton Square Drive through Sunday, Oct. 6. They will be transporting supplies as well as 200 fish dinners to those struggling in the Greenville area on Monday, Oct. 7. They are accepting water, canned goods, items for babies, hygiene products, and more.
Lowcountry to The Mountains Hurricane Helene Relief Fund and Donations
All donations will go directly to the United Way of North Carolina on behalf of our efforts. United Way of NC will distribute our donations to the counties in Western North Carolina impacted by Hurricane Helene. Funds will be distributed to county-level United Ways and then designated to nonprofits serving those in greatest need. Thank you for your support.
