Hi, It’s Bill. Welcome to the first-ever edition of the ChuckTown Report.

Every week I will be delivering you the best news, events, and the latest development projects changing our beloved city…for better or worse. Let’s get into it!

Over the past few weeks I have been busy with videos going viral on Instagram, writing blogs, and starting a NEW YouTube Channel all about historic Charleston and the neighborhoods:

What I’ve been reading up on this week:

What the Fed rate cut ACTUALLY means for mortgage rates (via The Real Deal)

Alphabet (Google) investing $3.3 Billion in 2 new data centers in SC (via Newsbreak)

All of the new restaurants that have opened so far in 2024 (via Holy City Sinner)

  • MUSC has committed to purchasing the land and buildings

  • No other details at this point but we’ll be awaiting to see what MUSC plans to do with the property

  • The new campus allows easier access to hospital care to the northern suburbs of Charleston like Summerville & Goose Creek

Lowline Park

  • A 1.7 mile long, 40 acre park proposed for the the Charleston peninsula

  • 3 distinct section

    • North Central Corridor: Pedestrian and bicycle pathways.

    • The Parks: Recreational areas and green spaces.

    • Urban Core: Unique urban spaces and community connectivity.

  • This project has been sloooooow moving, hopefully we see some movement soon to connect the neighborhoods of the peninsula
